Making My Own Bows, and a Sneak Peak at Me Trying to Sew!

Courtney Every since Avery was a baby I loved putting small simple bows in her hair! Now that she is 27 months her bow collection has greatly expanded. We have moved from a small little bow holder to this massive one and its already full! I think we are good on hair bows for a long while!

After spending lots of money on Etsy buying hair bows, I decided this could be something my new do-it-yourself attitude could attempt to make. After cleaning up my ribbon box, I started to work on creating new bows and this was my end result! While I still have a lot of tweaking to do to make them a bit more professional looking, I am happy with what I have made so far!!

Check out Kimba's Blog, A Soft Place to Land, for lots of other fun do it yourself projects!!

Here is a sneak peek at another do it yourself project I am working on! Two of these sets of fabrics will be made into Yo-Yos for a shirt project that I will also embroider names on and the second is a fall tweed brooch I am going to make! Hopefully they will turn out okay! Have I mentioned I can't sew at all, that is something I am working on so this is a simple way for me to get started.

Once I get a little better at my sewing I might spend a little more time in my moms sewing room. She is just a bit of a crafter, if you cant tell by all the equipment! She has a sewing machine, embroidery machine and quilting machine. I would love to use the first two, the third I have no desire to even try!

Thanks for visiting!

Fun hairbows!
I only dream of my mom buying a quilting machine. I'd be over there in a nano-second.
Wow! Your mom's craft room is the craft room of my dreams. The hair bows are absolutely adorable, too. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, that's quite a craft room your mom has!
I love the bows and clips you made, so cute! I really like the snowflake and woodland ones.
You have such a talent. They are so beautiful.

I love all of your bows! I wish I had had those when my daughters were little!
I really enjoyed looking around your blog! What great ideas!! You were smart to make those hair bows on your own!
