What works for me when I forget about the laundry!

I really, really try to think about the environment when I do things these days. As much as I try though I still forgot sometimes. I am still a baby in my learning though(is that a valid excuse?)
The thing I tend to forget about is the load of laundry that I put in the washer. When I do remember (sometimes up to a day later!) the laundry smells a little too mildewy for me. So one tip I learned from the blog world a few months back was rewashing (bad I know!) the laundry with just some baking soda or vinegar. Either one of these will neutralize the odor and get your clothes back from the dreaded mildew world! So that is probably the greatest tip I have gotten and use more often than I would like too. My goal is to not have to use this tip anymore but it is a good one if you ever need it.

FABulous tip! This is one that I'm really bad at too. My laundry room is upstairs and we spend most of our time downstairs, so I don't hear it buzz, then forget about it. In fact, I think I have a load up there now from a day or two ago. Think I'll try this one out this afternoon. Thanks!
I am forever forgetting the laundry in the washer! Arrrggg! So frustrating. Oh, well. At least I'm getting the laundry done ;-)
A construction worker, in the grocery line, turned me onto Borax.

My husband does our laundry, so it inevitably smells slightly mildewy. I'm going to suggest this to him in the morning (though he'll probably retort with something resembling instructions for me to wash my own clothes if I don't like how he does it).
