A New Step In Menu Planning!!

Courtney I am big on menu planning in our house. I am sure that a majority of my blog posts are either my plan for the week or why menu planning works for us! I noticed that the menu plan was working great but I had to constantly check my blog to remember what to cook or refer B back to it when he kept asking what was for dinner. I needed to figure out something that would work for us just a bit better when it came to what was actually having for dinner once the menu plan was set for the week. So while jetting across the county I thought how could I solve this solution and be the do-it-yourself gal I am so longing to be!
The solution came to mind that we needed a menu plan that was in the actually kitchen. I decided that a chalkboard would probably be the best solution. (after the dry erase disaster of 08, I will not be bringing those type of pens in my house for a long long time!)
I headed out to a couple thrift stores and found the perfect picture to use for our menu plan. I The best part was that the whole thrift store was having a 60% sale, so I saved loads of money on this beauty!

I removed the picture, since it was on a heavy board and painted right over the it with chalkboard paint.
For the frame I just used a antique white color to match my wood work and once it dried used sand paper to distress it a bit.

Overall I am very happy with how the new menu planning board looks. I might add vinyl lettering for the days of the week so they are always stationary but fo now this works great for us!!

What an awesome idea. Already contemplating where I can hang one!
