Motivation While Cleaning!

Courtney Over the past few weeks I have been determined to keep our house as clean as possible! It might just be the motivation you get from the new year, nesting before the baby comes or (and the one I am hoping!) is that I am turning over a new leaf and trying not to be lazy!
The other day I took the day to clean the wood and tile floors in the house. Avery was sweet enough to take a nice long nap and the sunny beating down on my wood floors made me realize I needed to get on the floor and clean up!
I need something more to really get me excited to clean my floors and I found great motivation, my iPhone! I put one earphone in my ear and fill up my ipod with books from audible.com and podcast that I love. As I clean the floors, do the dishes, work on folding laundry, clean the bathrooms, whatever I stick them in my ear and get two things done at one time!
I have huge passion for reading and sometimes the time to just lay in bed never comes around! The times that I feel unmotivated to clean I just remind myself I can get a couple chapters in from the Happiness Project or learn a little about history from the Stuffed I Missed in History podcast.

Great idea; cleaning, after all, doesn't really keep all our braincells occupied! "Stuff missed in history" sounds really interesting.
Do you know what always motivates me to clean? Inviting a bunch of people over for a party. LOL I should be required to have a party every few weeks, if it wouldn't make me poor. ;)
I'm working on reading The Happiness Project right now, and I'm really enjoying it.
great idea. I am going to have to try that!
Another great audio website is Learn Out Loud. They have a huge section of free downloads:

Great tip! I used to do the same when we drove long distances a lot, but thanks for the reminder that this works around the house too!
