Courtney My days with Avery have never really been structured. She always has just led the day with the toys she wanted to play, books she wanted to read and naptime. It worked..up until now. She is starting to think that TV is an acceptable thing to do (all day long!) and hates when I say no. While she has was only a little bit interested in watching TV in the past, all the sudden I think she is understanding it so its a bit more interesting to her and some of her toys are not as cool as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Sadly I don't agree with her and we butt heads a bit over this, but since I am the mommy she doesn't have much to fight about.
During the winter I like to stay home as much as possible. I know that Avery gets a bit antsy with this, but we are working on getting things a little more structured and enjoyable for her. With the new year coming up, I decided it was a perfect time to start a structured learning plan for her. I have searched and searched the blog world and found several amazing sites to help me get into gear. While I am a little bit overwhelmed, I am also excited to get to work. I feel like I am starting very late in the game and hope that Avery is excited to actually do some of the activities. I can't believe what I have seen on lots of blogs and how much these young tots can do on these blogs, I feel like I have let Avery down. Hopefully we can change all that and get a program started that works for us and helps Avery get a jump start on learning!
Since Avery is almost three I am going to start off with a a couple of generic things each day for her to do. Hopefully as she gets use to our new schedule we can figure out what works and what doesnt work for us!

It will be so interesting to see how this changes and evolves. I really hope we are able to get a nice flow going and stick to a compatiable schedule! I will be back Saturday with a recap of how the week went!

Your new schedule for Avery looks great! I'm starting the year withe a renewed focus on planned activities for Finley too, and it is easy to get overwhelmed or plan too much. Your list looks just right, and I hope you have a great week doing all that fun stuff!
I hear you on the TV watching thing....my little guy has gotten more TV than he needs lately, and now that I'm back to 100% and putting my foot down, he isn't liking it one bit. Best of luck with that battle too!
